Connections Tab

The Connections tab in SyncEngine is your gateway to integrating and managing web services within the platform. It provides a streamlined interface for configuring, authenticating, and saving credentials for various web services to enhance your workflow and automate tasks efficiently.

Key Features

1. Access to Web Services

The Connections tab includes built-in support for a wide range of web services to cover most modern integration needs. These services are carefully selected to ensure compatibility and utility across SyncEngine.

2. Credential Management

Easily configure and save credentials for the web services you use. SyncEngine securely stores these credentials using Symfony's vault ensuring a seamless connection to external platforms without requiring you to re-enter authentication details repeatedly.

3. Modular Flexibility

If additional modules are installed, extra web services may become available. These optional services are designed to make integrations even more straightforward and powerful, allowing SyncEngine to grow with your needs.

Using the Connections Tab

Step 1: Open the Connections Tab

Navigate to the Connections tab from the main interface of SyncEngine. This is where you can view, configure, and manage all your web service integrations.

Step 2: Select a Web Service

Browse the list of available web services. The platform categorizes services by their functionality to help you find the right option quickly.

Step 3: Configure the Web Service

Once you select a service, you will be prompted to provide the necessary details, such as: - API Keys - Usernames - Passwords - Endpoint URLs (if applicable)

Step 4: Save Credentials

SyncEngine currently offers two methods for saving credentials.

  • Vault: (recommended) Upon entering credentials, press the + before the input field.
  • Database: If you fill in your credentials without using the vault, this will store the credentials directly into the database.

When using the vault, you’ll be prompted to enter a name and a value. The name is meant for reuse, so choose one that clearly describes the credential being saved. The value should contain the actual credential. Once a new vault record is created, the name will appear in the dropdown for the specific credential

Step 5: Test the Connection

After configuration, test the connection (if possible) to ensure that the service is properly integrated and ready to use.

Benefits of Using the Connections Tab

  • Efficiency: Quickly integrate with popular web services without complex setups.
  • Security: Protect sensitive credentials with robust encryption.
  • Scalability: Add more services through modules as your needs evolve.
  • User-Friendly: Intuitive interface designed for ease of use, even for non-technical users.
